Perhaps a carrot and nappies are not the coolest sunbathing accessories, but as far as Rosie is concerned, a spangled headband offsets these perfectly. I get the feeling that in a few years she will want to kill me for posting this picture. I state for the record now-you haven’t started walking yet Rosie, which is partly why you look like a mini sumo wrestler (but a beautiful one at that..)

Google fame
I tried Googling ‘Rosie Woodhead’ today. She is the sixth entry on page one. Not bad for 8.5 months of age. I, on the other hand am nowhere to be found, after 46 long years in which to rise in Google stature. I did find an exciting (if not very famous) .22 calibre air pistol champion called James Woodhead, but not a glimpse of me.
In celebration, here is Rosie in her Hollywood starlet outfit, awaiting fame and fortune.
It’s official
Unfortunately I have to now admit defeat and officially announce that Rosie has more hair than me. I have been fighting a losing battle for several months. For a while I was winning in the density department, but she has overtaken me and left me behind. Welcome to the world of hairstyles Rosie Woodhead.
One seriously chilled baby
At the pool last week. This pose is not the result of having fallen sideways. She positioned herself like this in order to be comfortable, and didn’t move for 20 minutes. She knows how to relax! The coffee cup was an experiment to see if she would budge, but no. It stayed firmly in place.
Rice crackers rule.
This face means ‘I am extremely hungry, if not starving, and I would dearly love a rice cracker’
And this one means things are ok with the world again for the next 3 minutes.
Tummy time
A recent visit to the pool provided a rare glimpse of Rosie spending time on her tummy. Usually she holds this position for about 8 seconds and then plonks her head down and refuses to lift it up again, protesting of exhaustion. There is a long way to go before she is mobile..

Rosie receives guests
Another in a line of enlightened visitors made a special trip to see Rosie today. This is her third Myanmar monk, on his way back to Myanmar, via KL, having studied in Sri Lanka for a number of years. Before you ask, it’s far too complicated to explain! Katrin made friends with one of them some time ago and we are now getting a steady stream making a special side trip to visit Rosie (and bring us enough Sri Lankan tea to last a lifetime.)
What with her Sikh christening at 2 months, and now her Buddhist blessings, she can surely expect a long and prosperous life.

Uncle Lars in town
Wam and the cough
Rosie has decided as a result, that coughing is quite cool and that it is very trendy to cough after every mouthful of her lunch or dinner. Today we sat through a whole bowl of pasta..spoon, cough, spoon, cough..... I tried to tell he that it is very childish, but she just doesn't want to listen.
Alison brought yet more beautiful new clothes for a baby who already has more outfits than a top fashion model. Thanks Wam!

Another month has flown by…
Rosie has got even cuter, our hair has got even more gray, and Uncle Lars and Auntie Alison have both flown around the globe to visit Princess Rosie. She was delighted by them both, but had little interest in jet lag or a basic need to sleep. I’ll post a few pics in the next day or two (feeding time has arrived, and her ladyship won’t wait.)

Hurray for the neglect-a-scooter!
Our living room is now well and truly her domain. Our things have moved to the sidelines, and Rosie now enjoys pride of place in her scooter, spinning round and keeping an eye on everything that happens.

Rug head
Fish and Chips
We ventured into town on the day after boxing day to scoff some decent food at the fish and chip shop. Rosie chose to eat her teething rings, whilst I had T-bone and Katrin had bangers and mash. Whilst she looked interested in the steak, the rings were obviously a much tastier option.

Christmas day

Watching up unwrap her first present (or fiddle with the paper to be more accurate) was great. I think she was more interested in the wrapping than what was inside though.

We wish you a merry Christmas
She especially liked the Harrods teddy bears. Unfortunately they cost more than a month's salary, and she was unwilling to go without milk for a month (or even a few hours) so the bear will have to wait until I make country director next year.
We have our tree set up at home now, and Rosie is delighted to watch it blink and flash before sitting down to her first breakfast at 7am (second breakfast - in the manner of hobbits and their love of second breakfast takes place at 10.30am)

Christmas is coming!
Christmas is round the corner, and Rosie has been getting into the spirit by wearing her new Santa headband as much as possible. In the meantime, the usual Christmas battle is taking place with me wanting to make the house look like a grotto, and Katrin wanting something more tasteful. I nearly bought two musical santas (one playing the saxophone and one playing the piano) in Sungai Wang yesterday, but opted for two sets of flashing lights and a jewel incrusted boot with attached Santa instead.I just know Rosie will love them.
We are going to KLCC this afternoon, to show Rosie the Gingerbread house display in the concourse, and take some Christmas photos, so I will post those later.

First meal
Hip-hip horray. Another year older.
November 24th seems to come round remarkably quickly these days. The years are flying by, and pretty soon I will be 40!
Here are me and Rosie trying to put a brave face on it. (It was only 7.45 in the morning by the way!)
Rosie bought me a delightful cheese cake, with her own money. And Katrin bought me a pipe. Lovely. Cake and pipe.

Midwife visit
Rosie has grown by 6 cms in the last month, and her weight is now a little over 8 kgs. The midwife also said that she feels Rosie is going to have an extremely strong character, and already decides who she likes and doesn't like. Aparently, this shouldn't happen for a few months yet, but she was very anti Nurse Jennifer when she turned up at our door. I am also told that the prediciton is that she will bend her father round her little finger, whilst her mother will be harder to manipulate. God knows what gave the Midwife that idea.

Another month has flown by...
All is well on the health front. The last trip to Doctor Partrick included half of the 6 in one follow up jabs she is due. (Only half due to fever last time) Unfortunately, this meant cancelling her appoinment with her boyfriend in Ampang until she gets the rest of her jabs. Oh well. She seems happy enough to sit and watch Piglet Wilburn with her Mother all day anyway.
