Happy birthday Mummy!

Another year for Mummy....and another delicious meal!
That'll be a plate of Park Hyatt pasta for mouse. She would be happy if we had to come here every day!
Daddy reminiscing on what it was like to still be under 50......

The Golden Book Award

Rosie has earned a school award for her reading skills. I know I am biased, but for a four year old she is a genius, and can now almost read her bedtime stories by herself. Well done Rosie!!

Best friends

Amina's 5th birthday party. Rosie can't wait for hers now...but unfortunately, she is six months behind most of the girls in her class. Patience Rosie...take it from your old dad that the years will fly by quickly enough...

Sports day

Ready for action in her team GB shirt.
Rosie and David discuss the opposition...or perhaps what they want for lunch.
 With the coach.
 Mrs Ameera and team YR2.
 Perfect poise and balance....
If all else fails, and you are losing the race, move the odds into your favour and use transport. Nice one Rosie!

My first ever shopping list

Created this morning after breakfast, in readiness for our weekly shop today. I am very proud, and I think I could probably successfully buy quite a few of the items on the list. Rice, chicken, tomatoes, chips....dam, her spelling is nearly as good as mine! What a brilliant four year old.

Back home again.

I have been worrying of late that my daughter was growing up too fast. On a shopping trip this week, my fears were put to rest.
Of all the things she could have chosen in the cosmetics and girly things department, she opted for cat glasses, with attached whiskers. And I think they look perfect.

New Year 2014

The Woodheads. Suited and booted for New Year.
New Year dinner, lovingly prepared by Papa Woodhead
 Full of New Year cheer....not.
That's more like New Year cheer.
 The New Year formal portrait
Careful Uncle Robin. This one is not for sale..
 That's more like it.
Papa Woodhead is finished for the night. It was 1.30pm, after all.

Hitting the slopes

There's snow on the hills. I'm ready. Perhaps Rosie is less sure..
As soon as the sledge came out, she became a speed demon..But needed dragging back up the hill each time. Many times.

Rosie encounters her first real life snowman.
 Queen of the slopes.

Quite quickly, Rosie discovered that it is even more fun if you point your sledge towards a jump and launch yourself over it. Going off piste just a day after Michael Schuhmacher had his accident...
Falling out is part of the fun.
A perfect first trip to the snow for mouse. May there be many more!

Children and fireworks...

The best way to teach your child about firework safety...
is to offer them fireworks to ignite for themselves.
Daddy following the firework code. Always leave your fireworks exposed and as close to other, lit fireworks as possible. Additionally, stay as close as possible to explosions in order to react to any emergency (like unlit fireworks going off)
The night sky lit-up with bombs and rockets. Call me a child. I love fireworks...
