We went for a visit to Port Dixon the other weekend, in preparation for our trip down there to house-sit over Christmas. Alan was having a big party with 40+ people, and Rosie was not going to be left out for anything. Here she is at 10pm, pretending that she is not remotely tired, watching a DVD with her new girlfriend Alisha. She finally went to bed at Midnight…

Christmas is coming. Toys R us is calling loud and clear.
Checking out what’s hot for Christmas this year. The toy store is a favourite haunt for a Saturday afternoon. Rosie heads straight for the Toy Story section, grabs a Woody doll, and takes off around the shop with Woody in tow. She has yet to learn that she can’t have everything she picks up, and the concept of financial exchange. So a lovely time in the store usually ends in tears…Oh well. Maybe Woody will visit for Christmas.
Another year
47. It really doesn’t seem like a year since I sat with Rosie on my lap in the early morning, delighting in the fact that I am another year older. The one good thing is that I look younger every year I suppose….
The cake was lovely. Rosie would like a cake every day of the year.

Arabian Princess
Rosie has a large contingent of visitors from Jeddah this week. Cue yet another outfit, flown especially from Saudi for Princess Rosie. Fuss, attention and constant kisses and hugs have ensured that she is quite keen to remain a Princess for as long as possible.
Halloween update
Unfortunately, the bee costume never made it to the party. Rosie decided to throw up all over it (and the Mercedes SL500 that she was travelling in)
Mum and R had a good time anyway, and Mikael kindly lent her his pumpkin cape for a while.
She played with lots of new friends, getting into the thick of the action.
The bee costume will keep for next year (and the sick washed off the leather in the Merc…)

Trick or treat
Halloween is upon us. Rosie is going to her first Halloween party next weekend, and has decided that a bumble bee outfit is a suitably scary choice for the occasion. A trial run (of the top half) yesterday went well!
It went so well in fact, that she was reluctant to take it off, despite temperatures in the high 30’s.
Even Piglet Wilburn had to be enjoyed whilst playing the bumble bee.
Here she is, pulling her most scary Halloween face, and wishing everyone a fright-filled October 31st
Bollywood
I came home from work the other day to find this delight waiting for me. A lovely present from her friend the maid, that Rosie was more than happy to model. Perfect for her visit to her Sikh friends next month!

Tiny goes shopping
Rosie in the sock department of FOS. Keen to find Daddy a pair of crisp white ankle socks. Unfortunately Daddy doesn’t wear crisp white ankle socks. Not until now anyway…..

Potty and Slippers
Miss Woodhead sporting the latest in hand stitched carpet slippers. We don’t have any carpet, but they still look extremely cool..and that’s what it’s all about.
Mum came home today with a new milestone purchase for Rosie. We can only hope that she doesn’t do this with it when it’s full.

Rosie is a Woodhead
I still have Tioman posts to blog, but the events of this week have to come first! We have just returned from court in Johor (for the second time in a week) and Rosie is now officially a Woodhead. At 9.30 this morning, we were in the judge’s chambers while he read the welfare report, and we sat and trembled as 15 months of stressing, fretting and waiting came down to this moment. He muttered and mumbled to the lawyer, read the documents that we have sweated blood over during this long process, and then said ‘congratulations.’ She is officially ours.
This final hearing has been a saga. Last week we went for the hearing, and as we arrived in Johor, after driving for 5 hours, the lawyer rang and told us it was cancelled. We drove back to KL, waited a week, and found out yesterday that it was back on for today. Another five hours down the motorway, and another night in the Thistle hotel. (The above pics show Rosie enjoying the king size bed and room service breakfast – for her only – which arrived wrapped in a warm cotton napkin.)
So. This last week been one of the most stressful parts of the whole process. We drove 1400 KLMS, ate rubbish for two days, Rosie was strapped into a car seat for almost 23 hours, but its done. Finally Rosie is ours. Watch out Europe. She will have a passport by the end of the year……

More from Tioman
A few more from the trip to Tioman
One way of ensuring she doesn’t wander off….encase her bottom half in sand!
Rosie and Mama enjoy a float in the early evening
Waiting for the restaurant to open (not sure why really, as the food was inedible) on the jetty, with the Panuba behind Rosie.

Tropical Island high-life
Rosie knows that it can’t be over done when it comes to packing for a tropical island holiday (especially when you have three people assigned to carry your stuff.) Here she is lounging on the beach in her private pool, brought especially from Germany for her holidays. Someone hinted last week that she is spoilt…Outrageous.

Tioman or bust
The first image submitted in this blog from Malaysia was of me and Katrin standing on the jetty at The Panuba Inn . Here we are again, blessed by pipkin, on her first Woodhead family holiday.
I arrived two days before the others (Katrin, Lars, Robin and Rosie) My journey was grim, but theirs was hideous. 30 hours to travel 390 KLMS. Appalling delays, inefficient transport systems and sleep depravation were not enough to wipe the smile from Rosie’s face.

Cheeky
Dada has a new job! Promoted to a band 7 manager last week, I am now in charge of adult academic products. One more step closer to band 10…..
I got back from a week in Singapore on a training scheme yesterday. Rosie has grown a little, got a little heavier, and definitely a little cheekier. He has taken to viewing the world upside down in a crab position and copying everything she sees..literally.

My first pizza
Another first this evening. Pizza for tea. She ate THE WHOLE THING! Ok, it was from the children's menu, but not really much smaller than mine. It seems she is very proud to eat from the menu, at the same time as her mum and dad. There was no stopping her. She even had time to dance to the piped music half way through.
When we got home she seemed to have developed difficulty in walking. Her belly was throwing her off balance.
Rosie loves the station
One of the most exciting places for Rosie currently is the LRT station. The Queen of Setiawangsa is under the impression that trains run for her alone. She likes to let everyone know that, and takes great interest in everybody who sets foot on her platform.
Shortly after these photos, she was on the train tugging on a the beard of a very pious looking Pakistani Muslim’s beard. Well, he was sitting on her train after all.

A flower
A very Happy Birthday to Grandpa (70 something…) and a belated Happy Birthday to Uncle Lars (more than 39..) Although she can’t be there in person, Rosie sends love and flowers.
