Rosie’s in the house

Play2

Rosie has taken to hanging out in her house quite a bit lately. Of course, we are always invited in, but 35 degrees inside a plastic house with no circulating air has limited appeal for an adult. Rosie emerges every now and then, dripping with sweat but clearly delighted to be a homeowner.

Baby Brasil

PDC35

Very little of merit to purchase in downtown Port Dickson. I did, however, happen across a Brazil kit in the perfect size for Pipkin. The colours look wonderful on her. So the decision is made. She is a Brazil fan. Could be worse…

By the way…the chair is from the same shop. Football kits and tiny chairs under one roof!

Signs of excellence

Rosie is learning fast from her Mum. Hearty congratulations are in order for her new sweeping skills. Training for pre two year olds is as follows:

Stage 1) Give her the tools of the trade

PDC31

Stage 2) Allow her time to figure out how it works

PDC34PDC32

Stage 3) Sit back and relax

PDC33

Stage 4) With enough encouragement, she might even clean the fans and ceiling.

YouTube

PDC29

Mama and Rosie like to watch a little YouTube before bath time. At least we have moved on from ‘Rain, rain go away..’ Her current favourite is Glee, which at least makes it slightly more interesting for Mama.

PDC30

Fish watching

PDC25

Rosie in her cool pink rash suit. She was delighted to discover tiny fish in a water feature at the Yacht club.

PDC26

She clearly felt that I should be equally excited by the discovery.

PDC28

It took a LONG time for her to tire of fish watching. In my dreams, we have a budding marine biologist, who will work on wonderful and exotic reefs around the world…we will see.

Peaceful

PDC21

Rosie likes dinner time. She seems to get quite chilled at 5ish, when she knows dinner is on the way. Some lovely dinner time pictures that Katrin took in the Royal Port Dickson Yacht Club.

PDC23 PDC24

We had temporary membership over Christmas, and Rosie spent much of her time either eating or playing in the pool. She seemed to enjoy yacht club membership. She certainly enjoyed junior fries or Chinese fried rice with chicken nuggets.

Christmas day 2010

PDC16

Piles of presents greeted mousedeer when she arose at 7am. An appropriate gasp was the initial reaction. This was followed by some rapid unwrapping….What did Santa bring??? Hurry and unwrap it Mummy!!

PDC20)

How on earth did Santa know! It’s Lotso! He even smells of strawberries!

PDC18PDC17

Dad cooked Turkey and all the trimmings. Seriously delicious. Well done Dad (and thank heavens for Tesco Seramban.)

The beach

PDC12

Not the most glamorous beach destination in Malaysia, but Rosie loved a trip to the seaside in Port Dixon. Can’t quite see it in the picture above, but Indonesia is 16 kilometres away.

PDC14

We paddled, picked up shells, and Rosie tried very hard to convince me that wading out towards Indonesia was a good idea.

PDC13

The tub

PDC9PDC10

Bath time PD style meant buying Rosie her own tub. We were unsure how she would take to it, but it became her favourite place. The tub had to travel back to KL with us, and she uses it every day now.

Fun in the Garden

PDC4

Rosie doesn’t have a garden at home. Spending as much time in the garden at PD was therefore high on the agenda. Time spent trying to catch ants (above) or enjoying the grass (below) was wonderful…

PDC5PDC7

But spotting leaf monkeys was best of all!!

Kitted out

Port Dixon does not abound in high quality shopping opportunities. I did, however, manage to find a Brazil football strip for pipkin in the oceanwalk mall, and a chair which squeaks when she parks her tiny bum in it. Pre-Christmas Christmas presents are thoroughly approved of by Rosie.

A delightful holiday in the country

PDC2

Rosie arrived suitably attired for a festive break in the country. Christmas 2010 has been spent outstation, in Port Dixon. Monkeys, mosquitos and wasps…and a unidentified insect in sunglasses were spotted during our stay.

PDC1

She settled herself right in to life amongst nature, and quickly made the place her own.

PDC3

Lots of Christmas posts to follow in the next week.
