Third birthday school party

Rosie has a June ahead. She finishes at 'Bright morning nursery' this week, and has a school birthday party with all her friends ahead of turning three on the 4th. On the day she finishes school, life moves downtown, to our new apartment. Mummy worked hard on all the birthday cakes and treats, as you can see below. Two dozen homemade cupcakes kicked the party off with a bang!
Pipkin was obviously delighted. She didn't know what to eat first, she was so excited.
For the previous week Rosie had been obsessing about cake. If asked what she wanted for her birthday, there was just one word. Cake.
Luckily she was happy to share, so long as her best friend Eva was first in line, and teacher stayed well back.
The biggest problem of the morning was deciding which one to eat next.
Birthday hugs and goodbye cuddles from Eva.

Rock star for a day!

Rosie won a GAP competition this week, and got to be 'rock star for a day' at a mall on Beach road!

Hair and make-up were part of the package. A 'professional' stylist worked feverishly to prepare her for her photo shoot.
I felt very nervous about her throwing a star-style tantrum and not allowing her stylist anywhere near her precious hair (let alone allow her to work on the make-up.) As you can see, this was not the case.
It was as if she has been applying and wearing make-up all her tiny life. She absolutely reveled in it.
Talk about Diva.......
Lipstick looking good!
Hair and make-up almost complete...
There we go. A tiny transformation. If she can only stop herself from licking the lipstick off her lips!
A natural in front of the flashing lights of the press (coming to a GAP clothing website near you!)
Post performance. Time to be inconspicuous to avoid unwanted attention from press and public. Out with the dark glasses.
Mellowing out after the gig, just strumming a tune in the dressing room.
I may be a crazy rock star, but I still need my mummy to take me home at the end of the day.

Pneumonia

Although now recovered, three weeks ago Rosie was diagnosed with pneumonia. It came as a big shock, but thankfully we caught it early and it was confined to one lung. Strong medication combined with lots of telly on the sofa did the trick after 10 days or so.

Teeth

I can clean my teeth!!...
with Mummy's help, and providing I get a tiny chocolate afterwards.
Cleaning teeth and then eating sweets. You have a lot to learn Rosie.

MC Woodhead

Rock and Roll!! MC Woodhead in the house. Laying down some 'Twinkle twinkle' beats, featuring 'little star.'

Forget that Jazz rubbish that my Dad listens to. Phat tunes are where it's at. A remix of 'Muffin man' coming up!

Sharing a joke.

It is great to be considered the funniest person in the world! At last, someone appreciates my humour!
Actually, we were laughing at the seagulls at the floating restaurant on the creek at Bur Dubai.
OK, so the seagulls were funny, but she definitely thinks I am the funniest person in the world (and probably the coolest.)

Fares please!

All aboard for London, Oxford, York and Wembley! My, my that's a grueling route you have Rosie. London to Oxford to York, and then back to London. I hope you (and your passengers) are prepared for a seriously long journey.

Playing and praying in Safa

Safa park is a busy place at the weekend, and it is worth while making the most of it before it gets too hot to visit. Whilst these ladies were busy praying, Rosie was busy playing.
Not much time for Grandma to attend to her prayers today. Far more important to chase mouse around the park.
Playing peek-a-boo in the flowers
Discussing seed pods and general botany with Grandpa
Our first barbeque of the season was a big success, and Rosie managed to force down several chicken kebabs before a little bell announced the approach of the boy with the bicycle and the promise of proper food....strawberry ice-cream.

Grandparents in Town

The visits continue! The same day Uncle Nikko departed, Grandma and Grandpa arrived. Someone new to share the delights of 'Rio-The Movie' and 'Timmy the naughty sheep.'

Grandma even managed to look interested in Timmy for a number of episodes! Guaranteed approval from Rosie.

More to follow......
